This client tried to achieve a casual romantic feel with her master bedroom decor, but the black and red cotton fabrics just weren’t right. Plus, the bed was awkwardly placed just a few feet in front of a patio door. No light to read a book in bed, no table near to reach the alarm clock. Four Seasons Redesign rearranged the furniture placing a new lamp with one torchiere uplight to dramatize the tall reeds behind the bed and two directional arm lights to assist with reading. Taking away the bedskirt gives a lighter, airier feel to the bed just as much as the larger print on the new taupe and seaglass green quilt does. And what a difference new window treatments make! Soft and sweeping, this casually pleated asymmetrical style complements the bedding perfectly. This bedroom is now nicely functional, subtly romantic and strikingly beautiful.
