Before, this built in hutch lacked vertical balance. Your eye goes directly
to the two top shelves, where the biggest items are. Lots of the homeowner's
small accessories crowded the remaining shelves, with some out-of-place
books falling over on the bottom. After, the big baskets were relocated
and several more pieces of the homeowners lovely, hand painted stoneware
were displayed to create a more "collection" feel. Sentimental
accessories stayed while the books found a more appropriate bookshelf to
lean on.

What a beautiful cabinet! Unfortunately, the piled up books, boxes and
stuff on and around the cabinet take away from that beauty. By eliminating
the not so pretty stuff and artfully arranging the decorative photo
frames, clock and accessories, we can now see the beauty that is, and
is upon, this antique oak cabinet.
