Two dressers and a headboard straight across the wall give the feel of a
heavy, horizontal line. To break this up, a large painting is added over
the bed as well as one dresser replaced with a daintier side table. The
weight is now distributed more evenly, and your eye follows a pleasant curve.
Also, the country style puffy, white embroidered bedding is replaced with
a more sultry green/gold bedspread (matching the green and gold ceiling
wallpaper, out of view) accented with bullion fringe and lots of pillows.

This living room went from "our first home" furnishings to
smart, chic and sophisticated! Soft ultra suede couch and chairs, silk
pillows, round, carved, dark wood tables and a tiered floor lamp are
combined with a striped, curvy window treatment to give this room a casually
elegant feel. Earthy colors, from rich tans and browns to spicy reds
